IntraOperative Monitoring (IONM) has become the gold standard of patient care regarding spine, brain, vascular and ENT surgeries. In recent years, the number of IOM cases has grown exponentially as a result of advances in IOM systems, improved monitoring procedures, and the surgeons’ increased awareness of the benefits of IOM. However, a vital missing link with many of these cases is the real-time monitoring by a Clinical Neurophysiologist. Quite simply, this is due to the small number of Neurophysiologists who are dedicated to being full-time IOM readers. Due to advancements in telemedicine, we are able to monitor cases anywhere within the United States while maintaining full-time communication with the monitoring technologist and surgeon.

At PRN Read, we specialize in filling this gap with a team of highly trained and licensed Surgical Neurophysiologists who can provide ongoing interpretations, reporting, professional fee billing, real-time data archival, and expert technical support for the monitoring technologist. Our goal is to raise the level of monitoring standards by adding an additional level of support for the surgeon, for the monitoring technologist and for the safety of the patient.
