interpreting physician for intraoperative neuromonitoring (ionm)
Primary Functions
Monitor electroneurodiagnosticiadnostic testing in a remote location. Be available at all times during the provision of IONM services for consultation on a real-time basis with the technologist or surgeon. Provide a final report and an emergency report, if applicable, of the professional interpretation of the data within the timeframe specified in the professional services agreement. Provide the surgeon with a summary prior to the end of the surgery upon request.
Qualifications
Board certification in an area that specifically qualifies competency for interpretation of IONM. This would include one of the following (1) the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN); (2) the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology (ABCN); (3) the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM); or (4) Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic with specialized training in IONM. Obtain and maintain appropriate training and/or certification, if applicable, for the provision of professional interpretation of IONM data. Additional state licensures (or ability to apply in additional states) is desired.
