Q. How difficult is it to setup this state of the art internet connection?

A. Much easier than you may think. Honestly, all that is required is a clean connection to the internet, that is, the ability to open up any web page, and we will do the rest.

Q. What if we have trouble with getting an internet connection?

A. PRN Read has Professional Internet experts and will be happy to discuss this with your IT department to help pave the way. We have the necessary documents to support what we are doing written in “IT Speak” to help everyone be comfortable with this connection. Today, such a connection is not nearly as difficult as it was even several years ago.

Q. Our technologists may be intimidated knowing that a Neurophysiologist is “watching” them like Big Brother. Is this a problem with other clients?

A. Our Neurophysiologists are mutually on first name bases with our client’s technologists. Actually, the opposite is typically the case where the technologist ends up looking forward to having the Neurophysiologist on-line as it is very comforting knowing that someone else will be helping to making the “hard decisions” that are necessary at times. Most technologists will tell you that they feel ill equipped to make serious calls by themselves. And in truth and according to their training and “scope of practice”, they are not suppose to make those calls – that is the job of the Neurophysiologist but most of time there is no one there to help them.

Q. If our tech is struggling and needs help, will the Neurophysiologist help out?

A. Obviously, it is not the job of the Neurophysiologist to train and supervise the IOM technologist in running the IOM system. However, our Neurophysiologist have years of experience both in the OR and clinically so they will often offer “suggestions” which often help to solve the problem, but the ultimate responsibility of operating the system lies with the IOM technologists and their supervisors.

Q. What type of data does the Reader need from the Technologists?

A. Our Neurophysiologist will work with each client and provide general guidelines that meet the minimum standards for generating a professional medical report. In addition, we will help you to established HIPAA and Hospital reporting standards that will be necessary for proper documentation in the event you ever need supporting documents for a patient.

Q. Who pays for this IOM professional read?

A. PRN Read will bill the third party insurance carrier directly without cost to the hospital.
